Maryanne’s musings: Horses are amazing. They can respond to so many subtle cues. Often I feel guilty that I’m giving my horse confusing signals. Sometimes he’s very forgiving and other times he picks me up on it.
I’m really happy with how the pose in the last panel turned out (of course it took a few goes to get it right and the rider’s feet were tricky). I felt like the last panel had to “pop” after the low energy of the panels leading up to it. It was a shame I had to crop in on his hooves and the top of the rider’s head. I kept as much as I could in the final. I changed the background colour for the last panel to set it further apart from the others.
